I believe he was ashamed to have left the assignment Jesus gave him and gone back to fishing. He was to be the Rock (Mathew 18:18) but now went back to fishing. This seems like backsliding to me. He was discouraged. Because of him his other disciple colleagues too were discouraged. As he said , I go fishing, they also said we follow you. So Jesus’ appearance at that time was timely, otherwise he wouldn’t only lead himself out of the way but also the other disciples. So seeing Jesus and seeing his present state made him cover up himself and jump into the water. Just like you said, his case is like the case of Adam and Eve. Thank you for sharing your insight with the world.Juliennenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23486174.post-71290346477394868832023-09-11T16:50:58.535-05:002023-09-11T16:50:58.535-05:00You go bro ❤️❤️👍👍You go bro ❤️❤️👍👍Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23486174.post-81714411772783754822023-08-26T03:40:46.360-05:002023-08-26T03:40:46.360-05:00Forgot to paste the first part! I never believed he was so exited to see Jesus that he jumped in the water to get to Jesus first. Peter was crushed. The last time scripture tells us that Jesus looked at Peter was when he had just denied him. So the last image Peter has of Jesus alive is Jesus looking at him when he denied Him. (This is the way the Holy Spirit edited of the The Word. Not to say Peter never saw Jesus again before His death, but this is the way the Holy Spirit edited the account - and the Holy Spirit always edits for a purpose.)

So with that in mind....
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23486174.post-17592597533035758382023-08-26T03:38:42.986-05:002023-08-26T03:38:42.986-05:00So with that in mind, Peter wasn’t excited to see ...
So with that in mind, Peter wasn’t excited to see Jesus...He was ashamed. It's even possible that Peter was trying to commit suicide as the geek word for "Thew" is 'ballo', which means to "throw or let go not caring where it falls" (Strongs). Its the same word used in Mark 9:45 when Jesus says it is better to live lame then to have all of your hands and feet and be 'ballo' into Hell. I wouldn’t make doctrine on that, as its just speculation, but again, the Holy Spirit chooses words carefully.

I 100% agree with your assemsnt on putting on the garments. Clothing HIMSLEF instead of letting Jesus cloth him. Just like Adam and Eve. There is definitely a correlation The Word is trying to make between being exposed (stripped for work) and shame. Fishermen don’t fish naked (my gosh could you image the sun burn!), but the Holy Spirit focused on Simons “nakedness” almost as if using the direct contradiction of practice to say “See, I don’t mean naked as in no clothes..I mean Naked as shame.” Of course, this is a historical account as well, so Simon really did put on an extra layer of clothes when he saw Jesus…again, as an idiom to cover his shame. Just like Adam and Eve. I am glad to see that there are at least a few out there that see this! Good word Brother!
Garynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23486174.post-74581020222008869982022-07-27T22:29:52.261-05:002022-07-27T22:29:52.261-05:00Brother, I had the same conclusion when I was read...Brother, I had the same conclusion when I was reading this passage, with tears of repentance and rejoicing. Just as I tried to study further if the Lord has led anyone of His children to put something online in that regard, here I am on your blog. I agree with you %, Peter ran away and hid himself like Adam and Eve did, because of the guilt and shame of denying His Lord.
