The Bible's Symbolism associated with #17; Think Judgment for wicked and blessings for the faithful. Recent Tweets

Just a quick post that contains Twitter Tweets I posted this month regarding evidence the Holy Bible (IE KJV and similar) provides to help us understand the number 17. This post was done on January 17, 2017 at about 3:00am CST (Texas) time.

Also consider this for evidence as to the perfection of how God has numbered every book, chapter and verse in the Bible from cover to cover. Every book and chapter in the perfect order. This is marked by Psalm 117 being the exact middle chapter of the Bible and Psalm 103:1-2 being the exact middle verses. Both locations declare Bless the LORD or Praise the LORD twice.

Here's my recent Tweets regarding #17.

The Bible's 14:29 verses help us understand how the LORD will one day call us out of this world

KEY ASSERTION: All the Bible's numbers, including book, chapter and verse numbers have a related symbolic meaning. Whatever you find a number associated with will contain some relationship to the number themes. For example,  number 24 is often related to The Day of the LORD, so whenever you see number 24 associated with a verse you might expect to find some message in the verse about this day.  For example, Matthew 24:42 tells us - be on the alert for you don't know when this day will come (The 24,000th Bible verse).

In other posts on this blog I explain that Bible verses with like chapter and verse numbers will contain similar themes. This is not to say the verses will have the same message, but rather, number symbolism associated with chapter and verse numbers combine with other numbers related to a verse and together they reflect the overall message in the verse. Following are just a few of the types of numbers I've found associated with a verse...I'm sure there are more:
  • Book Chapter number
  • Chapter Verse number
  • Book Number
  • Cross Bible Chapter Number
  • Cross Bible Verse Number
  • Cross Book Verse
  • New Testament Book, Chapter and Verse number.
My point is that although there are many God given numbers associated with every Bible verse that together reflect the message in a verse, we can examine just the chapter and verse numbers and search other verses with the same numbers to discover a common theme running through the like numbered set of verses. But because every verse has many numbers associated with them, like numbered verses often have very different messages. Knowing the common theme running through the set of verses can help us more accurately interpret verse contents.

Examining a common theme found in the Bible's 14:29 verses

Number 14 generally is associated with Jesus the coming redeemer (see Revelation 14:1) and number 29 is similar to number 99 (2 nines) and seems to point to future events that will happen just before the end of some period (IE just prior to Jesus return).

Looking at the following few of the Bible's 15 verses with 14:29 verse reference, we see a very interesting common theme running through them. It appears they speak of times when the LORD calls to his people to come out, or come to him. Ponder how this or a related theme is reflected in these verses:

Matt 14:29 And He said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
Exo 14:29 But the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
2Sam 14:29 Then Absalom sent for Joab…but he would not come to him. So he sent again a second time, but he would not come.
Num 14:29 your corpses will fall in this wilderness, even all your numbered men…who have grumbled against Me.
Mrk 14:29 But Peter said to Him, "Even though all may fall away, yet I will not."
Deu 14:29 …and the widow who are in your town, shall come and eat and be satisfied, in order that the LORD your God may bless you
Isa 14:29 "Do not rejoice…For from the serpent's root a viper will come out, And its fruit will be a flying serpent.
John 14:29 "Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.

So what does this common theme tell us?

There are many benefits to comprehending this common theme: A few I see are"

  • Shows God's repeated message throughout scripture - that he will one day call us out of the world and that we must have faith to go to him.
  • Helps us discern the deeper message in verses. IE That in Mark 14:29 we can better comprehend the consequences of falling away.
  • Shows that those not trusting God will fall in the wilderness
  • Warns us God is telling us in advance what is going to one day take place
  • Validates a common theme running through these verses
  • Validates that Bible numbering is inspired just like the text
  • Helps us see the incredibly specific detail of the Bible's perfection
Look through other posts on this Blog to see other examples of how the Bible's like numbered verses help us better comprehend God's Word.
