3/18/2011 - Investigating the pattern of 3:18 verses

As I have mentioned in other posts, like referenced verses have similar themes running through them, but they are not always fully obvious to observe. Thinking of today's date "3/18/2011" I thought I would check out the Bible's 3:18 verses (43 in all) to try and observe the pattern. I believe I see a pattern emerging but not so sure I can yet explain it. Since it was about today's date, rather than save further study for another day, I thought I would put it up as a post in case others might want to look for themselves. This is a work in progress.

Remember that every number and pattern has at least two sides to it - a positive and a negative side. I have divided examples of these groupings below.

Pattern of the positive side: appears to be the salvation of Israel. The pattern of number 318 shows itself in this and other places to be likely related to #39 (3 & 1+8) which is a number I believe is related to Israel who has yet to complete their 40 years of wandering before they enter the promised land (40-1=39). The verses seem to speak of how the Lord has finished the task of saving his people - it was done by his work on the cross as was promised long before it happened.

Pattern of the negative side: Appears to be about the judgment to those who have ignored and who do not obey the Lord. The ones who have turned their back on him. Seems to represent Israel and others who rejected Jesus, the Son of God who gave his life as a sacrifice for our sin. In an type of opposite to the positive side, this negative side seems like a final decision/judgment to those who turn away.

As I mention, the study of the pattern of 3:18 verses remains a work in progress. I invite you to examine the verses for yourself to see if you observe a pattern.  I have not looked at them yet, but you should find similar pattern's in any 318 type number - look at 31:8, 18:3, and other combinations of the number.
